Private equity and venture capital professional with significant experience in value creation and realisation. Have built unique experience, in Emerging Markets, originating, appraising , structuring, negotiating and executing private equity investments and venture capital transactions across the board with focus on Technology driven opportunities. Closed over 50+ investment deals (from $100K to $25M per transaction), managed over $150m in Venture funds and served as a BOD / LPAC member for a number of companies / Funds, providing commercial and business strategies, along with general operational, financial, and strategic support as needed. In 2015, I led the exit of twofour54’s largest two investments, and more recently in 2017, led the exit of IFC’s largest MENA direct deal, souq.com. I also led the creation and launch a leading accelerator in the MENA region. Currently working with IFC focusing on MENA venture capital – ifc.org/vc – Investment mandate include direct growth stage investments and indirect (Fund of Funds) across typical Venture funds and early stage programs and accelerates. I also lead various efforts across the World Bank group that focus on the entrepreneurial space.
